- Biography
- Soledad Núñez Ramos has served as Deputy Governor of the Banco de España since September 2024. She is also Chair of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Roundtable on External Audit and since January 2025, she has also been a member of the Steering Committee of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), member of the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) and member of the Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS). Previously, she was General Director of the Treasury and Financial Policy, Director General of Economic Policy in the Office of Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister of Spain, and an external member of the Target2 Securities Board at the European Central Bank. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Governor, she was a member of both the Executive Commission and the Government Council of the Banco de España. Soledad Núñez holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota. She has been an associate professor at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and IE University and has published numerous articles in her field.
