- Maurizio Michael Habib is Team Lead - Financial Stability at the European Central Bank. His work and research focus on international macroeconomic and financial issues, including topics related to investment funds, cryptocurrencies, exchange rates, the global financial cycle and global safe assets. Previously, he worked at the European Commission in Brussels. He holds a MSc in economics from Birkbeck College in London and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. He has co-authored several articles published in the Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, IMF Economic Review, and Economics Letters, among others.
