- Biography
- Ana María is Head of the Payment System Department at the Central Bank of Colombia, where she leads the design, operation and regulation of Bre-B, the country’s new national fast payment system. Previously, she worked at the Ministry of Finance’s Financial Regulation Unit, the Securities Self Regulatory Organization, and the Colombian Banking Association. In 2020, Ana María received the Juan Luis Londoño Prize, awarded to economists under 40 for outstanding contributions to social policy design, in recognition of her leadership in implementing Ingreso Solidario, Colombia’s COVID 19 emergency G2P program. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Universidad de los Andes and a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad Javeriana, and has completed executive programs in financial inclusion, innovation, and leadership at Oxford, Georgetown, and Harvard.
