Hayk Sargsyan, PhD, is the Head of the Financial Risk Management Department at the Central Bank of Armenia and an Adjunct Professor at the American University of Armenia. Throughout his career at the Central Bank, he has worked in the Monetary Policy and Financial Stability departments before taking on his current leadership role in Risk Management. He earned his PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. His research focuses on macroeconomics, financial stability, reserve management, risk modeling, and applied econometrics, with an emphasis on translating academic insights into practical tools for central banking. Through both policy work and teaching, he strives to strengthen Armenia’s financial resilience and long-term economic development.
